PROFESSIONAL HUNTER · WELLFOUND SAFARIS
Nicholas Biggs
Co-Owner & Professional Hunter
I was born into this farm and grew up learning every corner of it. For me, a great hunt is about more than a trophy — it's about the planning, the chase, and the stories you share around the fire at the end of the day. Everyone just calls me Nick.
5 years as PH Plains game & buffalo Co-owner, family operation
"The adrenaline when a client shoots their first animal — I feel that every time. That moment of accomplishment is why I do this."
BACKGROUND
Grown up on the farm.
I grew up on Wellfound. From a young age I was given real responsibility — learning the land through farming, not just through hunting. My first animal was a duiker ram at five years old, and that moment has never really left me. The respect it gave me for wildlife has shaped how I guide.
Hunting, for me, is about testing yourself and connecting with others who share the same passion. It's also about tradition — something handed down through generations on this land — and I take that seriously.
"I feel most alive when I'm in the bush with a client — everything comes down to the moment. The animal, the wind, the shot."
APROACH
Strategic. Adaptable. Social.
My guiding style is built around planning — reading the conditions, setting clear goals for the day and adjusting when the situation calls for it. I adapt to the client in front of me, not the other way around. Whether you're experienced or stepping onto African soil for the first time, I'll work out what the hunt needs to look like for you.
SPECIALITIES
What I guide.
Plains Game
All major plains game species in the Eastern Cape. I know the terrain, know the species behaviour and know how to put a client in the right position. Kudu bulls are a personal favourite.
Buffalo
Buffalo hunting demands a different kind of focus and a different kind of trust between PH and client. I take the preparation seriously and I won't cut corners on safety or on the quality of the encounter.
Walk & Stalk in the Mountains
Early mornings, glassing from the high ground, working into the wind. I especially enjoy mountain hunting — the physical challenge and the patience it requires are what make a stalk feel earned.
THE EXPERIENCE
From arrival to the last morning.
I pick up clients from the airport personally — that drive is where we start to get to know each other. By the time we arrive at the lodge, you'll already know how the week is going to run, what we're hunting for and what to expect.
The lodge itself does a lot of the work. Wellfound has a warmth to it that's hard to describe until you're there — trophies on the walls, good food, familiar staff. Evenings around the fire, swapping stories. I love those evenings as much as anything that happens in the field.
GOALS & TROPHIES
A clear plan for the hunt.
I hunt with a clear goal for each day. I want you to go home with the trophies you came for — and with a sense that you earned each one. I'll help you set realistic expectations, plan your species list and make smart decisions in the field. A successful safari, to me, means the hunt went the way it should.
